Needlings’ creator, Heather Saunders, is a Canadian plush artist, illustrator, crafter and writer located in Hamilton, Ontario.

Inspired by folk art, nature and whimsy, Heather works primarily in felt, fabric, watercolours and loose threads to create handcrafted plush characters, fibre art, and silly illustrated pieces.

Featured at Plush You Seattle, One of a Kind Show, Kid Icarus Toronto and other small retailers and galleries throughout the US and Canada since 2007, Heather’s work is currently available only through custom commission or occasional shows and markets in the GTHA.

In her spare time, lately, she can be found practicing and learning how to play various musical instruments and humming quietly to herself while contemplating the future of her creative practice.
